    Hi,
My b.arch is completed this year and I also done my training period under the register C.O.A Architect. But he got his licence in 2013 so the certificate he gave me is it OK for me to register with C.O.A.?
    Hi Deep,
As long as he is registered, it does not matter ‘when’ he got his registration. You are anyhow entitled for registration with the CoA, if you have successfully completed your B.Arch course. The professional training certificate is not compulsory.

Due to certain reasons I need to get my COA registration number as soon as possible. Therefore wanted to know that if possible can the COA registration number be issued to me if I send all the documents along with my Provisional degree certificate issued in the year 2015?
    Hi,
You can use the provisional certificate for applying for registration only if the original certificate has not been issued by your university for your batch. But if it has been and you did not take it, then you cannot apply using a provisional certificate. First get your original certificate and then apply for registration.

    Hello
Kudos on a very resourceful page.
I hold a B.Arch degree, however, I’m based outside India at the moment. With respect to the registration, I’m concerned about sending my original certificate. Would like your advice on how I can go about the procedure.
    Thank you.
    Hi,
Earlier, the original certificate had to be sent for verification and the copies of all documents had to be attested by a gazetted officer. But according to the latest CoA guidelines, it now appears that self-attested copies of all documents are sufficient maybe because of the risk of loss during transit.

    Hi,
“An architect who obtains any further recognised architectural qualification is entitled to have the additional architectural qualification(s), entered in the Certificate of Registration on payment of additional qualification fee of Rs.200/- (per qualification). But only recognized architectural qualification(s) included in the schedule of qualifications appended to the Architects Act, 1972, can be entered on the Certificate of Registration.
You should fill up the application for renewal and send it along with the following documents:
The CoA Registration Certificate in original.
The additional recognized architectural qualification certificates in Original, for verification and return by Registered Post,
A copy of the same duly attested by either a Gazetted Officer or Notary Public/Oath Commissioner
A self-addressed envelope of size 12”x ́10″ for return of the endorsed CoA registration certificate by Registered Post.

Regarding the lost certificate, you must apply for the duplicate certificate to the concerned institution/university and submit duly attested copies of the same.

If I have completed my 3rd year after 5&1/2 years of joining architecture, am I eligible for registeration ?
    Hi,
Earlier it was a must that you should have completed the first stage of 3 years within the first 5 years. But in the latest “minimum standards for architectural education, 2017”, I do not see any such rule. So You could send all the required documents to the CoA and see what happens.

I am an indian citizen and I have a 3 year M.Arch degree from USA, though my bachelors in india was in B.E computer science. Am I eligible to register with the COA? If yes, is my procedure any different from the others with a B.Arch or equivalent degree from India?
    Hi,
According to the CoA, if you are a citizen of India and hold a recognised architectural qualification (Indian or Foreign) as listed in the Schedule given here, then you are eligible for registration with the CoA. So by that definition since B.E computer science degree is not part of the Schedule you are not eligible. But since you did M.Arch, I am not sure. Write to the CoA and see what they have to say.
